Imagine this: It’s Monday evening, and you’re scrolling through LinkedIn, a platform typically filled with polished posts and professional updates. Suddenly, a notification pops up—Monday Night Live is about to begin.
Curious, you click. Instantly, you’re drawn into a live broadcast where marketing insights meet entertainment, and I’m right there, cracking jokes, sharing stories, and fielding your questions. By the end, you’ve learned actionable strategies and feel inspired to take your own LinkedIn game to the next level.
Hi, I’m Nathanial Bibby, and I’ve been running Monday Night Live for years. Catch up on episodes with the YouTube playlist here. Although I did pause it for three years when I had my first child, it remains one of my favorite projects. This live series has helped me build an audience, generate leads, and establish thought leadership on LinkedIn.
This live series has helped me build an audience, generate leads, and establish thought leadership on LinkedIn. But that’s not all. I’ve also hosted webinars like LinkedIn Strategy, How to Master Social Selling, LinkedIn for Financial Advisors, and 7 Steps to LinkedIn Influence. One of my most notable recent events was LinkedIn AI Secrets, a one-off presentation designed to test content resonance and conversions.
Depending on the success of such webinars, I often transform them into in-person keynotes or full-fledged courses. In fact, I’m planning to do just that with LinkedIn AI Secrets.
In this blog, I’ll show you how to create LinkedIn Live events that engage, educate, and convert. Whether you’re an entrepreneur, marketer, or thought leader, this guide will take you step by step through mastering LinkedIn Live.
LinkedIn Events: Bringing Professionals Together.
Let’s start with the basics:
LinkedIn Events are gatherings—either virtual or in-person—designed to bring professionals together.
These events can take many forms: webinars, workshops, conferences, or even informal networking meetups.
The purpose?
To connect people with shared interests, industries, or goals in a meaningful way.
But here’s the best part: LinkedIn Events aren’t just about listening to a lineup of speakers.
They’re highly interactive.
You can participate in discussions, ask questions, and forge valuable connections with others in your industry or area of interest.
Sounds exciting, doesn’t it?
Now that you know what they are, let’s talk about how they function.
For virtual events, you’ll typically join through a live stream, video call, or webinar platform. Many of these include live chats where you can ask questions or share insights in real time.
For in-person events, LinkedIn provides all the event details—like the location, date, and time—so you can plan accordingly.
What’s even better? Some events let you start networking before they even begin. LinkedIn’s event features often allow you to interact with other attendees in advance, so you can kickstart those connections early.
Whether it’s a casual meetup or a formal conference, many LinkedIn Events include Q&A sessions, giving you the opportunity to engage directly with speakers and other professionals.
LinkedIn events that perform well are interactive, they build a buzz in the community, they invite participation. They are regular touch poitns with your audience – and a great way to leverage your network by easily inviting them all to attend.
Branded Events
Eg. Ask me anything, panels, fire-side chats, interviews to drive conversation around a topic
Product Launch
Drive engagement, awareness and generate a buzz around your new offer or technology.
Live Presentations
Build thought leadership by broadcasting a live keynote or hosting a livestream or a webinar
Regular Series
This is a great way to build community, by hosting a weekly show just like Monday Night Live.
LinkedIn Live is not just a video tool; it’s a conversation that drives real LinkedIn engagement.. Unlike pre-recorded content, live streaming allows you to interact with your audience in real-time, creating a sense of connection that static posts simply can’t match. It’s personal, dynamic, and a great way to build trust with your professional network.
But here’s the thing: while many professionals have access to LinkedIn Live, very few use it effectively. That’s where you can stand out. The opportunity to dominate this space is enormous, but it requires strategy and execution. Trust me, I’ve been there.
To succeed on LinkedIn Live, you need the right tools. Let me introduce you to two of my go-to platforms:
And don’t forget the basics:
Before you hit “Go Live,” test your setup. Early on, I learned the hard way that tech hiccups can derail an event. One time, my microphone cut out mid-stream, and I had to type responses into the chat while troubleshooting. Now, I always run a quick rehearsal.
Every great LinkedIn Live event starts with a purpose. Are you educating your audience about a niche topic? Showcasing your expertise? Building your brand? Defining your “why” will shape everything from your content to your call-to-action.
For me, Monday Night Live was all about creating a space where business professionals could learn and level up their LinkedIn skills.
By staying true to this mission, I’ve built a loyal following. By staying true to this mission, I’ve built a loyal following. Similarly, webinars like LinkedIn AI Secrets allowed me to test new concepts and gauge their resonance with my audience. The replay is available on YouTube.
Here’s a structure that works for me:
The right guest can elevate your LinkedIn Live event. Think of them as co-creators who bring fresh perspectives and expand your reach. When I hosted Jack Delosa or Dr John Demartini on Monday Night Live, the energy was electric. Their insights on business and overcoming challenges resonated deeply with the audience and brought in record-breaking views.

Hosting requires energy and authenticity. Here’s my approach:
One of my favorite parts of LinkedIn Live is the interaction. I often say, “The best conversations happen in the comments.” Encourage viewers to ask questions, share their thoughts, and participate in polls or giveaways.
When I started Monday Night Live, I wanted to create something unique—a blend of marketing tips, industry news, and genuine connection. After pausing the series for three years when I became a parent, relaunching it felt like reconnecting with an old friend. Over time, the response was overwhelming. Viewers tuned in not just for the content but for the experience.
Consistency is king. By showing up every Monday, I built trust and anticipation. And while the format evolved, the core mission—educate, entertain, inspire—remained the same.
I entered Monday Night Live into the Social Media Marketing Awards and ended up winning Best Use of LinkedIn – an award for the best campaign of the year on LinkedIn. I was thrilled!
LinkedIn Live is more than just a streaming feature—it’s a stage where you can connect with your audience in real time, build trust, and establish yourself as an authority in your field. Whether you’re hosting a casual Q&A, launching a new product, or diving deep into a niche topic, the strategies outlined in this guide will help you engage, educate, and convert.
Remember, consistency is key. Show up for your audience, deliver value, and don’t be afraid to experiment with new formats or ideas. Whether it’s a live show like Monday Night Live, a data-driven webinar, or an innovative one-off event like LinkedIn AI Secrets, the potential for growth is limitless.
