Profile Branding

Make your first impression count with an impressive professional headshot, make sure you are wearing appropriate business attire and smiling.

Optimise Your Headline

This is the most important field in your profile for optimisation. You have 120 characters here so be sure to use your keywords and make sure you choose compelling words. Talk about the value you bring to your clients.

Complete Contact Info

Include as much contact info as possible such as, location, telephone, twitter, skype, etc.

Add Websites

LinkedIn will let you put up to three website in your profile. Do not use their generic labels such as “My Company” or “My Blog.” Always click “Other” and change.

Register Your LinkedIn Web Address

Create your own custom public profile URL to your name with no spaces, for example - if your name is not available add a number to the end.

Experience Headline & Description

This is another great place to use your keywords, both in the title you held at the company as well as in the description of what you did. You have 100 characters in the title and 2,000 in the description.

Your Summary

This is generally the first section people will read so speak directly to your target audience, in first person, and finish with a call-to-action.

Add Links & Media

Add links & media to each section to make your profile stand-out and not so text-heavy.
