Let's start at the beginning...
I started my career in marketing at 16 years old, diving into the world of SEO. My first big opportunity came when my dad, who was building villas in Thailand, had only made one sale in six months. I saw the struggle and offered to help with the website.
I worked on a strict commission—0.5% of every sale. Within a few months, I had optimised the site, and we were generating 10 leads a day. But leads alone weren’t enough.
After finishing my marketing degree, I hopped on a plane to Thailand to take over sales directly. The results were incredible.
We launched multiple developments and sold hundreds of properties using this strategy. From SEO to email marketing to AdWords, my marketing skills evolved quickly, and I became sought after by businesses needing real results.
After a stint in Hong Kong working for its largest real estate agency, I returned to Australia, ready to bring my experience back home. I moved from real estate to digital marketing, where I knew I could add the most value.
Joining a friend’s company, I headed up their newly opened Melbourne office.
During my time in Melbourne, I started experimenting with LinkedIn as a lead-generation tool. I used LinkedIn to target owner's of medical practices, in my first week I sent out 10 messages. Made 4 appointments, and 1 sale. But it was the ideal client, so the sale was a large one. I started sending out more and more messages each week, booking more and more appointments.
The response was overwhelming—I was so busy with LinkedIn meetings that the business grew from 12 to 120 employees in just 12 months. Eventually, the company was acquired by an ASX group.
At one point, I tried delegating my LinkedIn activity to an assistant. That’s when it clicked—if I could delegate LinkedIn successfully to someone else, then businesses could delegate their LinkedIn marketing to me and achieve the same results.
This was the inspiration behind Bibby Media Group, Australia’s first LinkedIn marketing agency.
Being the first LinkedIn marketing agency in Australia put me in high demand. Companies and organisations wanted to understand LinkedIn, and soon I was invited to speak and train on LinkedIn strategies across the country.
I flew around Australia every month, delivering my LinkedIn Fundamentals course to business professionals in each city.
Organisations like the Australian Digital Marketing Institute and the Social Media College hired me to create their LinkedIn curriculum. My campaigns like LinkedIn Heroes and Monday Night Live won the Best Use of LinkedIn at the Social Media Marketing Awards two years in a row.
Today, Bibby Media Group has helped clients generate over $500 million in sales, and I’m ranked as the top LinkedIn expert in the Asia-Pacific region.
The world of business has changed.
Today, it’s about connection, trust, and building genuine relationships. The days of “spray and pray” marketing are gone.
Now, if you want to drive growth, you need to reach people where they’re looking for real value—and right now, LinkedIn is the biggest opportunity to do just that.
With the rise of AI and digital transformation, the businesses that adapt will thrive, and LinkedIn has become the platform where professionals connect, learn, and make critical business decisions.
LinkedIn isn’t just a platform—it’s a tool for building relationships that lead to sales. And I believe this is the ultimate strategy for businesses ready to grow in this new era.
My philosophy is simple: build relationships first, and the sales will follow. When it comes to LinkedIn, many try to go wide. I believe in going deep—connecting with the right people, and adding genuine value.
My lead generation process is straightforward but powerful. It’s a three-step approach I’ve refined over the years:
Find Your Ideal Clients: Using LinkedIn’s advanced tools, we identify and target the decision-makers who need what you offer.
Connect Strategically: We send personalised connection requests that stand out, building trust from the very first interaction.
Engage and Convert: Once the prospect accepts, we send a message designed to generate a conversation, often leading to a phone call or appointment. Our message scripts convert 10-30% of these connections into real business conversations.
This approach isn’t about pushing. It’s about drawing people in—clients who are genuinely interested, ready to trust, and ready to buy.
So, to sum it all up…
Now is the best time in history to be on LinkedIn, and the opportunity is only getting bigger. Most businesses aren’t using LinkedIn effectively, which means that with the right strategy, you can truly outshine your competition.
The future on LinkedIn looks brighter than ever. As AI continues to transform the business landscape, LinkedIn’s value will only increase. AI enables us to fine-tune and optimise our approach, allowing clients to engage with prospects more intelligently and efficiently.
I believe LinkedIn is the ultimate platform for businesses determined to stay ahead. It’s where relationships are built, trust is earned, and deals are made. My commitment is to help my clients unlock this potential.
If you’re ready to transform LinkedIn into a growth engine for your business, let’s connect.
Reach out, and let’s make your goals a reality.
